Welcome to my devotional page! My goal for this page is to inspire you through stories of my family and to encourage you through the scriptures to never give up. I believe our Father in Heaven created each and every one of us for a unique and special purpose in this life on earth.
There have been many times in my life when I struggled to believe that this was true, especially when my boys Reed and Cole were little. Any mom of toddler boys will understand what I mean when I say that there were many days when I would pray for bedtime to come quickly. The energy that little boys possess is beyond my comprehension. There was a short period where both of them were in diapers, car seats, high chairs and cribs at the same time. All of this while during duck season! Need I say more? I soon learned going shopping with both of them at the same time was completely out of the question.
Being a young mom, I felt completely overwhelmed on many occasions. It seemed like every day was the same chaotic, messy, exhausting day, and I'd get up and do it all again tomorrow. During that time, my next-door neighbor, a lady whom I admire greatly, taught a class at my church. In her speech she said "every time you change a diaper, mix up formula or rub a stain out of your good dress, remember that God has chosen you for the purpose of raising His children. He chose you to be their mother and no one else." A definite light bulb moment!
Sometimes the ordinary things in this life cause doubt. Make the ordinary extraordinary for God's purpose for you at that time. No one in my family saw Duck Dynasty coming down the road for us. No one could have ever predicted it, but God did. He knew when I was calming tantrums and wiping noses that one day He would be using my boys to help spread His message to the world all for His glory! What does God have planned for you? Don't limit Him, and he won't limit you.
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.
